There was confusion in Enugu, the Coal city capital as news spread Sunday morning that a commissioner of police, Chinweike Asadu has been shot dead in the state by dare devil gunmen.
The CP, an indigene of the state, and Kwara commissioner of police met his untimely death upon arrival in his home state.
A source revealed that the gunmen were said to have laid ambush against the commissioner at about 9:45 Saturday night, stressing that “as he was about to enter into his
Enugu residence at Abakpa in Enugu East local Government Area of Enugu state, they shot him, alongside his orderly”.
It was further gathered that he was rushed to the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Enugu where he was confirmed dead.
The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu who confirmed the incident to DailyPost said a full scale investigations into the killing has commenced. Enugu indigenes, especially the late CP’s kinsmen have also seriously condemned the incident and called on the police to track the killers.
