Confusion in Delta community as gunmen kidnap 50-year-old woman, sister, others

There is confusion in Jigbale Street off Alegbo road in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State after gunmen on Monday whisked away a 50-year-old woman, Mrs. Kemi Adegboyega, wife of the Chief Executive Officer of Gboyega Motors in Effurun and her sister to unknown destination.

DAILY POST gathered that the gunmen also whisked away a trained tradomedical doctor, Mr. Robinson Ojokojo with four others away during their operation.

The gunmen numbering five stormed the area with a lady in. Hilux van.

They allegedly shot sporadically into the air before whisking the victims away.

The gunmen later returned to the area, allegedly ransacked the apartment of the tradomedical doctor and carted away unspecified amount of money hours after whisking the victims away.

It is not clear if the gunmen here Police Officers or kidnappers in the State but the Hilux van they uses had an inscription that said SARS.

Husband to the victim, Mr. Abayomi Adegboyega in a chat with DAILY POST on Tuesday evening confirmed the report.

The Chief Executive Officer of Gboyega Transport Line, who narrated how the ugly incident happened, said he called the mobile phone of his wife but it has been switched off since yesterday.

According to Adegboyega, “I don’t know the whereabouts of my wife. For me, they have kidnapped my wife. If it is Police, you cannot lock somebody up for more than 24 hours. If it is Police, I will sue them. I don’t know whether they’re Police or kidnappers.”

Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa said, “I have received calls from two other journalists on this matter and I have asked the OC SARS to find out, he said none of his men did any such operation.

“I will also call the Area Commander, but honestly, so far, there’s nothing resembling what you described. Let the relatives of the women call me so that I can better understand what is going on.”
