Nnamdi Oduamadi has expressed optimism over his injury and hopes to be fit in time for Nigeria’s final group game against Spain on Sunday.

The Varese winger was taken off early in the match against Uruguay and cut a sad figure at the end of the game, but he has told KickOff that he expects to face the La Roja

“It’s one of those things,” he said. “I was having a good game, but then got a kick on the ankle and felt serious pain, and that’s why I asked the coach to replace me.

“It’s bad getting this injury and very disappointing, but I hope to be back against Spain.”

Oduamadi is one of the top scorers at the Confederations Cup, after he grabbed a hat-trick against Tahiti.
