Neymar scored yet another cracker, and set up substitute Jo for Brazil’s second, as the hosts marched into the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup, with a 2-0 victory over Mexico.
The Barcelona player was a minor doubt for the game, after picking a knock against Japan in the first game, but with just nine minutes on the clock, the 21-year-old produced another sublime volley, to give the Selecao the lead. The game then stretched on without any goals, as the Mexicans became more confident and poured forward in search on an equaliser. However, in the 92nd minute, Neymar weaved his way past two defenders from the left and set up Jo, to confirm their slot in the last four.
Brazil has now set a new record – becoming the first country to win nine consecutive Confederations Cup games.
