Confederations Cup: Chile eliminate Portugal to qualify for final

Chile have qualified for the final of this year’s Confederations Cup, after they defeated Portugal 3-0 on penalties in their semi-final clash on Wednesday.

The game ended goalless in regulation time.

Both teams were also unable to find the back of the next in the extra 30 minutes of the encounter and the match was eventually decided on penalties.

Manchester City’s Claudio Bravo saved all three penalties from Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho and Luis Nani, to ensure his country qualified for a third major final in three years.

Chile will now play the winner between the other semi-final game between Germany and Mexico
