Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, will start Fikayo Tomori instead of Victor Moses, in next week’s Community Shield game against Arsenal.
Moses picked up a red card in their FA Cup 1-2 final loss to the Gunners in May and it rules him out of the match, which is the traditional curtain raise for the new football season in England.
Conte has been experimenting with Anglo-Nigerian defender Tomori as a right-wing-back in their pre-season games, knowing fully well that the Super Eagles star will be unavailable.
Tomori played from that position in their 3-0 win over Arsenal and also in the 2-3 loss to Bayern Munich, despite coming on as a substitute in both games played in China.
The Community Shield will be played August 6 at Wembley Stadium.
