Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers State chapter, Chief Felix Obuah, has dared the former governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to come clean on the allegation of financial embezzlement leveled against him.
He also told Amaechi to stop hiding under the cover of President Muhammadu Buhari, to make crude statements against the former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and the Rivers State governor, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Obuah, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Jerry Needam, said Amaechi’s administration engaged in fraudulent acts while in power.
The state PDP boss said it would be foolhardy, for any responsible government, not to take what he called, “the mind-blowing fraudulent charges” from both local and international scenes seriously.
Obuah, therefore, appealed to President Buhari, not to shield Amaechi but to encourage him to defend himself in the allegations made against him, “if his anti corruption crusade is genuine, and not targeted at perceived political enemies.”
The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Rivers State chapter, Mr. Chris Fynebone, had also claimed that Governor Wike-led administration was stopping at nothing to blackmail the former governor and to destroy his legacies.
