Newly appointed General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, (CAC) Worldwide, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji, on Saturday said his priority attention in his new capacity is to restore the church to its days of glory and as well stamp out indiscipline among pastors and church members.
The renowned evangelist, who is the founder of CAC Canaanland Ministries, said that he would use his new office to clear the rot in the church at home and abroad, stressing that his tenure would witness the rebirth of evangelism which is the hallmark of the church.
Oladeji told journalists that, “when real revival begins, the seeming division in the church will fizzle out. Those who have left will return and the church will, in unity, forge ahead to achieve its mission of winning souls for Christ and setting free those in bondage for peace and prosperity to reign”.
According to him, any cleric of the church found wanting in areas such as infidelity, fraud and divisive tendencies would be disciplined appropriately.
This, he said had become necessary to stop them from further dragging the good name inherited from its founding fathers in the mud.
The cleric said: “Whoever is caught will be dealt with. It is either you change from your old bad ways and remain with us you make a decision”.
He expressed regrets that so many pretenders nowadays embraced the work of clergy or gospel music out of lack of white-collar job or as a result of business failure and the general economic situation of the country, and they keep claiming that it was God that called them.
“These are the type of people that often cleverly found their ways into different churches and give such churches bad names. I will join hands with other leaders of our church to return it to what it used to be
“It is my conviction that the problems confronting Nigeria are surmountable but the fight against such problems must start from the churches and homes,” he said.
The cleric who predicted that Nigeria would soon regain her lost glory in view of the tireless prayers of many devout Nigerians, said he would mobiliize intensive prayers towards that direction.
He enjoined Nigerians and the leadership to return to God and make him their cornerstone for quick turn-around of her socio-economic challenges.
Oladeji called on CAC members and leaders across the world to support his vision and as well as team up with him to achieve all his set goals
The new Generall Evangelist succeeds Prophet Kayode Abiara of the CAC, Agbala Itura who is retiring after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 75.
