The embattled APC Chieftain, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree has been slammed with fresh five charges bothering on murder, conspiracy, attempted murder and wounding by the High Court in Port Harcourt.
In the charge presented by the Rivers state government, Ojukaye was accused of murder of one Iminabo Dokubo and the attempted murder of one Ipalibo Jackson.
Our correspondent reports that the accused person was not present in court to take his plea following a letter from the authorities of the Port Harcourt prisons that Ojukaye could not be brought to court because of his deteriorating ill-health.
However, Chief Judge of the state, Justice Iyayi Lamikanra after hearing the charge, ordered that Ojukaye be remanded in prison and issued a production warrant on the prisons authorities to make sure Ojukaye is produced in court on the adjourned date.
The Chief Judge, Justice Lamikanra fixed Monday July 4th for the accused to take his plea.
Speaking with DAILY POST, counsel to the Rivers state government, Godwin Obla, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, said the statement from the prisons was an abuse.
On his part, Lawyer to the accused person, Ken Atswuete said neither him nor his client was served the fresh charges.
The Court of Appeal is expected to hear the bail application of Ojukaye Flag-Amachree also on Monday July 4th.
