Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige has declared that circumstances are compelling him to run for the 2014 Anambra State Governorship election.
The Senator, who may run on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, if INEC registers the party before the election, also stated that the controversies surrounding the acronym, APC, would not hinder the merger plans.
Ngige, who stated this during the quarterly constituency briefing and distribution of gifts to his constituents in the Anambra Central Senatorial District, stressed that the hitches the merger plan was currently facing would neither affect its purpose nor dampen the zeal of the founders to liberate the Nigerian masses.
He said that alternatively, the parties behind the All Progressives Alliance, APC may be compelled to adopt a new name and logo to serve the purpose of the founding fathers.
The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Senator who is the chairman, Steering Committee of APC in South East, expressed confidence that the party would wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, and reposition the country to the path of development.
Speaking on his ambition for the coming governorship election, Ngige said that circumstances were compelling him to join the race.
He recalled that he came into the Anambra State Government House with a blue print out of which he was able to do 20 per cent before his exit through court judgment.
He said: “Circumstances are compelling me to run for Anambra governorship election because I came to Government House with a blue print and I was able to do 20 per cent.
“Another government came in and did just seven per cent in seven years and I want to ask who is going to do the remaining 70 per cent?”.
