Christmas: Police set to deploy 3,014 personnel in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command says all is set for the deployment of 3,014 officers and men of the command to ensure hitch-free Christmas celebrations across the state.

Sunmonu Adeyemi Abdulmaliki, the state commissioner of police, disclosed this to DAILY POST on Thursday, in Damaturu ahead of the annual festival.

He said that the command’s operation order was already out, while all hands are on deck to ensure a successful Christmas for all and sundry.

In his words, “the entire 3,014 men of the command would be involved, because while those ones that would be actively involved would be on the field the rest will cover their duty.

“That is why the entire police in Yobe is involved in the Christmas operation.”

He said further: the special Christmas operation by the command will be in conjunction with other security agencies like the Military, Civil Defence Corps and State Security Service among others.

On the current security situation in the state, the CP described it as calm, stable and peaceful.

“If you see something, say something. Everybody should join us in making a free, happy and memorial Yuletide celebrations”, Abdulmaliki urged.

The commissioner also noted that Police Headquarters Abuja has provided Yobe state command with all necessary logistics for smooth operation before, during and after the Christmas period.
