The Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has strongly condemned the spate of terrorist attacks rocking the nation, urging security agencies working to restore normalcy not to give up in its quest to get rid of terrorism.

Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu yesterday reacted to the latest terrorist attack which reportedly occurred at the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in Piri , Potiskum Local Government of Yobe State on Christmas day.

“The forum is deeply pained by the fact that the perpetrators chose a holy day (Christmas) to carry out such a dastardly act which left scores of worshippers dead and many others injured,” said a statement signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo.

The statement urged the security agencies not to be discouraged by the activities of terrorists, emphasizing that the nation would forever remain grateful to the military and other security agencies for the successes recorded so far in the war against terrorism.

The forum reiterated its commitment to continue to work closely with the federal government in finding a lasting solution to the security challenges confronting the nation.
