The Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman, has urged the military to rescue the remaining Chibok girls in Boko Haram captivity on or before Friday, April 14, the third anniversary of their abduction.

Usman said this at the handing over of relief materials to IDPs, donated by NPA to Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima in Maiduguri.

Her words: “I have stuck to my girls, the Chibok girls, over the period of their abduction and Friday April 14 will be three years that these girls have been held in captivity.

“I believe that the Nigerian military is making efforts to rescue the remaining girls.

“We believe and pray that as we inch closer to the three years anniversary the military will rescue the remaining girls from their abductors”.

Speaking, Shettima extolled the commitment of Hadiza Bala Usman to the course of the abducted girls, by leading the BBOG campaign.

Shettima noted that her action brought to global attention the Chibok girls’ incident and plight of the Northeast region.

Meanwhile, BBOG co-convener, Oby Ezekwesili, has faulted the Federal Government on alleged silence and complacency concerning the search of the remaining Chibok girls. Ezekwesili, while speaking at the third year commemoration since the abduction of the school girls urged President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill his promise to bring back the girls held by Boko Haram Islamic extremists.

She added that the government would have defeated Boko Haram if the remaining Chibok girls were back home.
