Chibok girls: The government is not ready to take responsibility – Senator Ndume

Writer: AdminAdmin

Senator Representing Southern Borno at the red chamber, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has said that it is unfortunate that one year after the abduction of over 200 school girls from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, nothing is being done by the government to rescue the girls.

Ndume said that insinuations from some quarters that the story about the Chibok girls was more of fiction than fact was unfair to the girls, their parents, the Chibok community, and Borno state as a whole.

He said that just before the recapturing of Gwoza town by the Nigerian military, there were reports that the Chibok girls were seen with the insurgents in the town, justifying that the abduction is real.

“The truth is that the government is not ready to take responsibilities. I can tell you that nothing is being done about the Chibok girls or any other girl abducted by the insurgents since the crises began six years ago,” Ndume said.
