Manager of Mexican club, Chiapas, Jose Saturnino Cardozo was sacked for the second time in a week on Sunday following the club’s Saturday’s 3-0 home loss to Cruz Azul.
The Paraguayan tactician had lost seven out of nine matches of the Mexican Apertura championship.
He was first sacked on Monday and was reinstated on Tuesday following players’ pressure.
The club said in a statement, “The board of directors and Jose Saturnino Cardozo decided by mutual accord to end their working relationship.”
“The team thanks the Paraguayan tactician for his professionalism, commitment and dedication.”
Chiapas sits at the bottom of the standings with four points and had hoped the events earlier in the week would motivate the team to do better.
Chiapas president, Carlos Lopez Chargoy said, “We needed something like this for the players to realise what a bad situation we’re in.”
Former manager, Sergio Bueno was recalled as Cardozo’s replacement for his third spell at the club where he has worked in 2003 and from 2013-15.
He will take charge of Wednesday’s match against Leon.
