Chelsea vs Videoton: Sarri reveals number of changes he will make for Europa League clash

Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, has revealed that he would make up to seven changes for his side’s Europa League clash against Videoton FC on Thursday night.

The Blues go into the Stamford Bridge showdown with the Hungarian side following a 1-1 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League.

The likes of defender, Andreas Christensen, midfielder, Cesc Fabregas and striker, Alvaro Morata will all be hoping to get a run out against Videoton.

Sarri, however, said there will be plenty of changes to his team as he looks to balance both the demands of European and domestic football.

“I have to speak to Pedro,” Sarri was quoted by Express UK as saying when asked for any team news ahead of Vidi clash. “He is doing better, like Loftus [Ruben Loftus-Cheek].

“Every player is at a level, but I have to change maybe five, six, seven players.

“I don’t know, I want to see the training tomorrow morning and this afternoon.”

Loftus-Cheek has made just two substitute appearances for Chelsea so far this season.

And Sarri says the England international could slot into his team as they welcome Vidi to town.

“Loftus-Cheek was unlucky in the last three weeks with the national team,” Sarri added.

“He had a problem in the last 5 or 6 days he has been better. He is able to play tomorrow.”

Asked if there is pressure on Loftus-Cheek, Sarri added: “The pressure is normal for the player of a high level.

“So he has to get used to the pressure. It is normal of a player with high level to have pressure.”

The kick-off time for the match is 8pm.
