Eden Hazard scored twice, as Chelsea came from a goal down to beat Newcastle 3-1 at Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Rafa Benitez’s men took the lead just after 12 minutes, as a long ball over the top enabled Jacob Murphy to threaten and when Courtois thwarted him, Dwight Gayle slid the ball into an empty net.

But the Premier League champions were levelled in the 12th minute, with Hazard volleying past Karl Darlow in goal for the visitors.

They took the lead, after Victor Moses’ cross was headed in by Alvaro Morata.

Newcastle threatened to equalize briefly, before Moses was brought down in the area and Hazard stepped up and converted the penalty.

The win takes them to 32 points from 15 games, and now on the same spot with second-place Manchester United, who travel to Arsenal in the last kick-off for Saturday.
