Chelsea vs Arsenal: Hazard speaks on being used as substitute, Sarri’s style

Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard has told manager, Maurizio Sarri that he prefers being on the pitch to sitting on the bench.

The Belgian forward intimated he is ready to play for Chelsea from the start after his impact as a substitute in the 3-2 win over Arsenal.

Hazard started on the bench in the win over Huddersfield last week then came on and provided an assist for Pedro.

Surprisingly, he was once again named as a substitute against Arsenal on Saturday.

And it was no shock that it was Hazard who was heavily involved in Chelsea’s winner.

He picked up the ball on the left-side, eased past Alexandre Lacazette and drove into the box.

Hazard then picked out Marcos Alonso who shot through Petr Cech’s legs to score.

He told BT Sport, “It is better to be on the pitch than watching on the bench, but the boys when they are playing they did well so I am just happy for the win.”

The forward also spoke on working under Sarri and admitted he likes the Italian’s style.

He added, “He is the kind of manager who wants the ball, to control the ball.

“I can’t say a wrong thing about that. I want to play and have the ball at my feet.

“We have players who can do something magic. He is a great manager, like we had before.”
