Chelsea send Kenedy home from tour following China comments

Chelsea have removed Brazilian winger Kenedy from their pre-season tour of Asia, following his insulting comments about China on social media.

The 21-year-old returned to the UK on Tuesday, after the Premier League champions sent him home.

The decision was taken in the wake of inciting posts which appeared on Kenedy’s Instagram account during the Blues’ time in Beijing.

“Chelsea FC can confirm that Kenedy has returned to the UK and will play no further part in the Club’s pre-season tour of Asia,” a statement from Inter Sports on their Weibo page read.

Kenedy was jeered by Chinese supporters on Saturday, during their 3-0 victory over Arsenal, which had been sponsored by Inter Sports.
