Chelsea defender, Davide Zappacosta, has given a hint on a possible return to Italy in January if he’s unable to make his way into manager, Maurizio Sarri’s plans this season.

The 26-year-old has fallen out of Sarri’s first team squad and did not feature in Chelsea’s first three Premier League games this season.

“Could I go back to Italy? Yes, Inter had tried me,” Zappacosta told Corriere dello Sport .

“My Attorney, Alessandro Lucci had told me about this, even though I have always been focused on Chelsea. I want to think only about doing well with Chelsea, there is a lot of competition, but I want to win the starting shirt.

“I think no player likes to stay out.”
