Chelsea pull out of Cavani chase after Napoli reject €52m bid

Football Italia has reported that Chelsea have pulled out of the race to sign Edinson Cavani from Napoli, after their latest €52m bid was rejected.

President of the Serie A side, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is insisting that thee Uruguayan will not leave for less than the €63m buy-out clause in his contract.

However, according to the striker’s father, his son is interested in a move to La Liga.

“My son wants Real Madrid, all that is missing is an agreement with Napoli,” Luis Cavani told Marca TV. “There has already been contact with Real’s lawyers.

“He’s spoken to the family about his desire to play for Madrid, but he doesn’t want to say that publicly so that he isn’t seen in a bad light by his current club.”
