Chelsea have said that John Terry could yet be offered a new contract to stay at the club.
The Blues’ captain current deal expires at the end of this season and the 35-year-old revealed on Sunday that the club are not interested in renewing it.
However, following Terry’s interview, Chelsea have released a statement hinting that the defender may end up extending his stay at Stamford Bridge.
“He is a fantastic servant of Chelsea Football Club and a superb captain and, as such, the club will keep the channels of dialogue open,” the statement read.
“While no new deal currently on the table, that situation could change in the coming months.”
