Chelsea are not trying to replace Antonio Conte with ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, club sources have told Goal.
German newspaper, Sportbild, had claimed there was contact between Blues director Marina Granovskaia and Tuchel, over an upcoming vacancy at Stamford Bridge, as Conte’s frustrations grow over transfer market issues.
The report also added that Conte disappointed Granovskaia over his handling of Diego Costa, who was informed via a text message that he is no longer needed at the club.
It has left the Premier League champions in a difficult position, as they cannot get more money for the Spain striker.
Although Conte is unhappy with Chelsea’s transfer business and has made that clear in some of his media conferences, he has insisted he wants to remain at the club for a long time.
