Chelsea’s trinity – Oscar, Mata and Hazard – were in full flow, as Chelsea defeated Monterrey to qualify for the finals of the World Club Championships in Japan.
Mata put the Blues ahead, with a superb finish, after great work down the left from Oscar and Ashley Cole. Fernando Torres’ deflected effort doubled their lead and Darvin Chavez scored an own goal to put Rafa Benitez men in cruise control.
Aldo De Nigris scored a well-taken consolation goal after a breakway, but it was not enough, as Chelsea will now face Corinthians in the finals on Sunday.
