Chelsea are set to close a deal, which will see the Premier League champions sign Radamel Falcao, on a one-year loan deal from Monaco.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho, has not hidden his interest in the Colombian striker, who spent last season on loan at Manchester United.
“It really hurts me that people in England believe that Falcao is the guy they saw at Manchester United,” Mourinho told DirecTv Sports last week.
“He’s a player I know, one that I’ve followed since Atletico Madrid and if I can help Falcao arrive at his level I will do it”, he added.
According to reports, Chelsea have now agreed to pay £7million to loan Falcao for the season with a buyout clause of £35million.
The transfer is expected to be confirmed by the end of the week.
