Change is three months away – Nda-Isaiah

The publisher of Leadership Newspaper and presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, yesterday, predicted that the end of PDP’s reign in Nigerian was already in sight.

Nda-Isiah, also condemned the decision of the Nigeria police to block the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, from entering into the National Assembly complex, adding that the kind of brigandage displayed at the National Assembly was unprecedented.

He stated this at a meeting with the governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola .

He said the ugly display at the National Assembly was a clear indication that Nigeria is in need of urgent change.

“As the country moves towards the next general election, it is becoming increasingly clear to Nigerians that there is need for change. I am sure many are aware of what happened in Abuja on Thursday.

“The kind of brigandage is very embarrassing situation. It is total breakdown of law and order; an impunity taken to a level that one could not imagine in this country. That is why there must be change in this country.

“As I have been saying, we are just three months away from change. By the grace of God we must ensure that for the sake of our country and the generation yet unborn, because we have to rescue this country and that is what Nigerians are asking for.”

Nda-Isaiah gave kudos to the Lagos State Government for fighting Ebola Virus Disease to a standstill, noting that one could not imagine the level of damage the virus would have caused had it not been that it first landed in Lagos.

He said: “I have had cause to tell with sincerity, that we had the opportunity of dealing with Ebola, what could have happened if Ebola had not entered through Lagos where we had effective leadership. We must commend you for working effectively to ensure that the Ebola virus didn’t wreak havoc on the state.”

Responding, Fashola stressed the need to continue “to keep the issues that inform change alive. The issues of insecurity, infrastructure deficit that we must overcome, poor governance alluding to issues of impunity in the country.”

Continuing, Fashola said the issues manifest as a result of bad governance, adding that Nigerians must keep those issues in the front burner to remind them of the necessity for democratic change.

“It is important continue to make that point as well. This is the time that Nigerians must decide and demonstrate that they can take the destiny by changing what clearly doesn’t work for them. It is not the same thing as when we wait for eight years for a bad government to leave.

“Then we elect something that will bring change. This is the time when it gives us the big opportunity to step up like other countries that can change their government because the person has performed below expectation. Choices will have consequences and if we fail to make the choices at this time, we may regret it,” Fashola said.
