The home-based Super Eagles, are to set up a training camp abroad, in preparation for the 2016 CHAN in Rwanda.
Nigeria qualified for the tournament, after defeating Burkina Faso 2-0 on aggregate and will join 13 other countries for the CHAN, which kicks off on January 16.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), are now working on a training programme for the Eagles.
“The plan is to the team to train in a country close to Rwanda before the competition,” a top official revealed.
“Tanzania would have been a suitable site but it is too expensive.
“We are sure a more definite plan will be finalised very soon.”
This will be Nigeria’s second appearance at CHAN, after winning bronze on their debut in South Africa.
