The home-based Super Eagles will, on January 2, fly out to South Africa for the second phase of camping ahead of the African Nations Championship.
The squad of 25 players has been preparing in Abuja for the tournament, but are on a short break for Christmas.
They are expected to leave for a training camp in Pretoria afterwards.
Nigeria is scheduled to play two friendly matches against Cote d’Ivoire and Angola ahead of the CHAN in Rwanda.
The Eagles are in Group C alongside Tunisia, Guinea and Niger. Their opening game is on January 18.
