Nigeria’s squad for next year’s CHAN, began training in Abuja on Monday, without ailing head coach, Sunday Oliseh.

His assistants, Salisu Yusuf and Jean Francois Loscuito, will supervise training in Oliseh’s absence.

“He will be in touch with the camp via Skype and telephone, like he did when they played the second leg of the qualifiers in Burkina Faso without him on the bench,” an official told AfricanFootball.

26 players were called up for the training camp, but there is a chance that some Dream Team VI players could be invited.

The CHAN Eagles are expected to continue training for the tournament in South Africa later this month, before a friendly match against Ivory Coast on January 9 in Pretoria.

Nigeria have been draw in the same group with Guinea, Tunisia and Niger.
