Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles are intensifying their preparations for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN), with a training camp in Abuja.
The squad is based at the Bolton White Hotels and Apartment and will be there for the next two weeks, for coaches to work on lapses noticed during the Super Six tournament.
They will then fly out for the last phase of pre-tournament preparation in Morocco.
Last week, the home-based Eagles emerged winners of the Super Six, after the one-week tournament ended in Kano.
In an interview with thenff.com, coach Salisu Yusuf, revealed that he will still add new faces to the team.
“I am very impressed with the team. We did not have any elaborate preparation before the Super Six tournament and yet these boys raised their game, improved with every match and won the trophy,” Yusuf said.
“I congratulate them but this is the beginning of real hard work for us.
“We will begin the next phase of preparations immediately. We want to also see some new players in certain positions and correct some mistakes we made during some of our games in Kano while strengthening and consolidating on our strong areas.”
