Head coach of Tunisia, Hatem Missaoui, has stated that his team are ready to stop Nigeria, when both teams meet in their African Nations Championship second group game on Friday.
The Carthage Eagles drew their first match against Guinea on Monday, while the Super Eagles crushed Niger Republic 4-1 in their opener.
“We are not looking forward to defending against a player in the Nigeria team; we have our tactics to stop the Super Eagles from scoring goals,” Missaoui said.
“What we are targeting is qualification to the next round of the competition and not just a victory against the Super Eagles.
“Nigeria have a good striker in [Chisom] Chikatara but we also have our own top scorer, Ahmed Akaichi, who scored the two goals against Guinea. He can get goals against the Super Eagles too.”
Missaoui, however, said that all the teams in Rwanda, have equal chances of lifting the trophy on February 7.
He said: “The Nigeria side is a very good team, we know how big they are and we are very ready to play them. We hope Friday match goes well for us.
“We are not just targeting the win against Nigeria, but qualification to the next stage, if we get the victory that will be fantastic for us.”
The match will kick off at 1pm.
