Head coach of Guinea’s national team, Kanfory Bangoura, has boasted that his team were better than the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Syli Stars defeated Sunday Oliseh’s men 1-0, to send them packing from the African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
Speaking after the match, Bangoura expressed his happiness at proving bookmakers wrong and qualifying for the quarter-finals of the tournament.
”We deserved to qualify for the quarter-finals because we played good football while Nigeria sat back to defend,” he said.
“I believe in my players and today they did not disappoint millions of fans back home.
“This is a huge win for Guinea and I really commend the commitment and determination of my players.
“We will be inspired by the this victory.”
