CHAN 2016: We dropped points against Tunisia – Oliseh

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, says they will still qualify for the quarter-final of the African Nations Championship, despite their 1-1 draw with Tunisia on Friday.

Chisom Chikatara’s goal was cancelled out by Ahmed Akaichi in the second half of the match.

Oliseh admitted that it was two points lost, but praised the players’ efforts.

“I will describe our outing as two points lost, but I think my players gave their best,” he said.

“We dominated the first half while they took over in the second half, adopting aerial balls, knowing fully well that my player are not as tall as they are.

“We played against a very tall side as compared to our team that is full of young up and coming players.

“We will continue to work hard. Of course, I know we are still in the pool and our last game will offer better performance.”

Nigeria currently tops Group C with four points, while Tunisia and Niger have two points each.

The Eagles’ last group match will be against the Syli Stars of Guinea on Tuesday.
