Head coach of Guinea, Mohammed Kanfory Bangoura, has played down Nigeria’s threat, ahead of their Group C final game on Tuesday at the Stade Muganda in Rwanda.
The Syli Stars’ chances of making it to the quarter-finals of the African Nations Championship is slim, after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Niger Republic on Friday.
But Bangoura is adamant that his players are not inferior to the Super Eagles and are looking to get a result which puts them in the next round.
“We have been playing our matches here with confidence,” he said.
“As you can see, we have been scoring goals and that has never been a problem for us.
“We know Nigeria is a good side and they have been doing extremely well in this tournament but we are not afraid of them. I’m confident Nigeria can be beaten come Tuesday.”
