Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has refused to commit his future to the club, ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final clash with rivals Atletico Madrid.
Zidane’s current deal runs out in June and there have been speculations over whether he will stay or leave.
Reports in Spain have insisted that a new contract extension for the French legend is a ‘formality’, regardless of whether Madrid win major silverware this season.
But when Zidane was asked about his future at his press conference ahead of the Derby, he said: “The only thing I’m thinking about and concentrating on is (Tuesday’s) match. I’m not even thinking about Saturday’s match.
“I don’t know what will happen later on and it doesn’t interest me.”
He also insisted that they are not favourites to qualify for the final, despite defeating Atletico Madrid in two major finals in the last three years.
Zidane added: “It means nothing that we’ve beaten them in this competition.
“We are not the favourites as this is a semi-final and it’s 50-50. You can’t dwell on what’s gone before as what has happened, has happened.
“They have caused us difficulties, but so have many teams. Their strength is that they never give up, no matter what happens.
“I’m not thinking about Cardiff (the venue for the final) either. We have to win tomorrow’s game. We have prepared well and we are ready.
“Everyone is pumped up and we’re ready for the run-in. I wish the game would start now.”
