Champions League: What Suarez did at Anfield tunnel after Liverpool thrashed Barcelona 4-0

Barcelona striker, Luis Suarez on Tuesday night congratulated Liverpool players in the tunnel after his side’s Champions League semi-final second leg 4-0 defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield.

According to beIN SPORTS reporter, Matt Critchley, Suarez was seen congratulating and catching up with his former Liverpool teammates after the final whistle in the tunnel.

Liverpool had lost 3-0 to Barcelona last week at the Nou Camp, but produced an incredible performance to beat Ernesto Valverde’s men 4-0 on Tuesday night and qualify for the final of the Champions League.

Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum both scored twice, as Jurgen Klopp’s side made it into their second successive final in the Champions League.

Speaking to Spanish reporters after the game, Luis Suarez said: “I think we have to do a lot of self-criticism, we are adults, we have many years in this category.

“We must reproach ourselves for things that we have done wrong, like thinking that everything was liquidated.

“We should not blame the coach, we are the players who play.

“I do not know if it’s a matter of attitude, but we’re in Barcelona, we cannot get two goals in a row. The fourth is a goal by kids.”
