Champions League: What Messi told angry Barcelona fans at Liverpool’s airport after 4-0 defeat

Lionel Messi was confronted by a small group of angry Barcelona fans at a Liverpool airport after the Catalans were hammered 4-0 by the Reds in the Champions League.

Messi was unable to make a difference in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final at Anfield on Tuesday as the Catalan club were dumped out of the competition.

Messi and his teammates went into the second leg with a 3-0 advantage but Liverpool stunned the LaLiga giants.

It was two goals each from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum that earned Liverpool a place in the Champions League final in Madrid.

Messi was required to undergo a doping test immediately after the defeat and Barca’s team bus departed Anfield without him on board.

When the Argentina captain finally did make it to the airport after providing a urine sample, he was confronted by a number of Barcelona fans who piled yet more misery on the Argentine.

According to El Chiringuito TV, one supporter yelled, “Messi you are the captain! You are the one in charge!”

“Only [Marc-Andre] Ter Stegen. All year, all f***ing year, only Ter Stegen!” challenging the Barca’s skipper for not being able to influence Ernesto Valverde to use other goalkeepers apart from the German number one.

The Argentine repeatedly responded by saying, “What have I done?”
