It has been revealed that a number of Manchester United players confronted Alexis Sanchez in the dressing room at half-time during the club’s Champions League defeat to Sevilla.
Jose mourinho’s men were overwhelmingly the favourites to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition but were stunned by Sevilla at Old Trafford with a 2-1 victory.
Most United players under-performed in the shocking defeat and Sanchez, who joined from Arsenal in January, endured another frustrating evening.
Sanchez has scored just once in ten games since his arrival at Old Trafford and is said to be isolating himself from his teammates at the club’s training ground complex.
A source at the Theatre of Dreams told The Sun UK that some United players turned on Sanchez during their Champions League exit as they were unhappy with his work-rate and failure to track back.
The report also claimed that a few members of the back room staff reminded him that he needs to perform at a higher level for United.
Much was expected of the Chilean international upon his arrival at United but he has failed to adapt to his new surroundings.
The player himself had admitted he has been disappointed with his performance for the club and has struggled to adjust since leaving the Gunners.
“As I am self-demanding, I expected something better,’ Sanchez said on Wednesday.
