Paris Saint-Germain forward, Angel Di Maria has spoken on his side’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg encounter on Tuesday.
Goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe gave Thomas Tuchel’s men all three points against Ole Gunnar Solkjaer’s side.
Di Maria, who set up both goals as the Ligue 1 champions took a 2-0 lead ahead of the second leg on March 6, said he expected a hostile reception upon his return to Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old, a former Manchester United player, received some mild jeering from his former fans that night.
Asked about the reception he received at the Theatre of Dreams, Di Maria told Cadena Cope: “It was difficult from the opening minute but I knew this was going to happen.
“But I’ve said it in the past and I reiterate it, I never spoke badly of the people here and of this club.
“These are things that happen and people took it badly. I only had problems with the coach [Louis van Gaal] here.”
