Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has been given a fresh injury headache on Monday, as it emerged Virgil van Dijk had not trained with his team-mates ahead of the Champions League clash with Barcelona, the UK Metro reports.
The Reds welcome Barca to Anfield on Tuesday evening, hoping to overturn a three-goal deficit and progress to their second successive Champions League final.
Klopp will be without star forwards Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino and now there are concerns over Van Dijk’s fitness after he missed the team’s final training session before the Barcelona match.
The Dutch defender has been struggling with a foot problem over the last few weeks.
But a Liverpool spokesperson has suggested Van Dijk only missed Monday’s open training, because he was instead undertaking an individual, tailored session, meaning he could still start on Tuesday.
