Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde has confirmed that his side will be without some key players when they tackle Tottenham Hotspur in tonight’s Champions League fixture at the Camp Nou Stadium.
Valverde said he will rest some of his players after Barcelona’s 4-0 victory over Espanyol on Saturday in the La Liga.
Valverde’s men have already qualified for Champions League last 16 following their 2-1 win over PSV Eindhoven last month.
“It’s true that there will be some changes tomorrow. We’ve already qualified and we’ll rest some players after Saturday’s match,” Valverde was quoted by Mirror UK as saying at a pre-match press conference on Monday.
“I know Tottenham rested some players at the weekend, like Harry Kane.
“Will Lionel Messi play? You’ll know in 24 hours. Inter don’t have to worry, they should play their match as if it were against Tottenham. We want to win, there’s no doubt about that.
“We’re expecting a tough game against a very strong side, who have qualification for the next stage at stake. We’ll be going for the win.”
Barcelona are already without the likes of Sergi Roberto, Rafinha, Samuel Umtiti and Malcom due to injury.
The kick-off time for the match is 9pm.
