UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Manchester United, over their late team arrival and late kick-off for the Champions League match against Valencia on Tuesday.

United manager, Jose Mourinho, complained that he and his players had to arrive late to Old Trafford for the game, due to lack of police presence.

The team bus arrived at the stadium for last night’s Champions League group stage match, with just 45 minutes before the scheduled 8pm kick-off.

The players eventually began their warm-up around 7.40pm.

It meant the match was delayed by five minutes.

Elsewhere, CSKA Moscow have also been charged regarding the blocking of stairways, during the club’s shocking 1-0 win over Real Madrid.
