Champions League: UEFA set to investigate Liverpool after 3-0 win against Man City

Europe football governing body, UEFA, has opened disciplinary proceedings against Liverpool over the attack on Manchester City’s team bus.

UEFA said its Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will look into the matter on May 31.

Liverpool fans allegedly attacked Man City bus before their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Liverpool at Anfield.

‘Missiles’ were thrown at the City bus as it arrived for the Wednesday’s encounter that ended 3-0 in favour of Liverpool.

The continent football governing body said it would investigate the setting off of fireworks, the throwing of objects, acts of damage and crowd disturbances.

UEFA said in a statement on Thursday, “The charges of acts of damage and crowd disturbances related to incidents involving the Manchester City FC team bus will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on May 31.”
