Manchester United centre-back, Chris Smalling has insisted that there are no rifts within the dressing room following his side’s goalless draw against Valencia in the Champions League.
The Red Devils laboured to a draw against the LaLiga side at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
United’s season has been plagued by off-field issues so far, with manager, Jose Mourinho understood to have fallen out with midfielder, Paul Pogba while reports have also suggested that the likes of striker, Alexis Sanchez and defender, Antonio Valencia are unhappy with the 55-year-old Portuguese gaffer.
Smalling, however, said that there is complete unity amongst the squad.
“We grew in the second half, you can tell we’re disappointed we didn’t get the goal we deserved in the second half,” Smalling told BT Sport.
“You’re just after anything, We couldn’t get the goal and we’re disappointed. We have to stand tall. We’re going through a tough patch and we’re the only ones who can turn it around.
“The dressing room is united. We’re sticking together to make sure we turn it around. We’re talented players and it is that confidence, mentally it is tough, we know how important the home games are but we turn our heads to Saturday now.”
Manchester United will take on Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend.
