Manchester United legends, Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand, have revealed that their former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo will only get one match ban following his straight red card in Juventus’ 2-0 win over Valencia on Tuesday.
Scholes and Ferdnand, who work as BT Sport pundits, said the former Real Madrid star will be available for the clash with Manchester United.
Ronaldo was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident with Valencia defender Jeison Murillo.
Initial footage was not clear as to what Ronaldo had done and Ferdinand claimed Juventus could appeal the decision.
Scholes agreed, saying, “It looks like he has a couple of nibbles at him.
“It looks like he had a kick at first and possibly swung an elbow.
“A little kick there and he raises his left elbow there.
“It’s a one game ban,” Scholes said.
Ferdinand agreed with his former team-mate, saying, “Yeah it’s a one game ban, not a three game.
“That’s what I believe it will get to.”
