Champions League: Salah sets incredible Liverpool record during Belgrade win

Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah has made history by becoming the fastest player in the club to reach 50 goals in a red shirt during the side’s 4-0 Champions League victory against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.

Salah scored twice against the Serbians to take his tally to 50 goals for Liverpool in less than 18 months at Anfield.

The Egyptian joined the Reds in a £34million deal from Roma in 2017 and scored 44 goals in his debut campaign on Merseyside.

However, his two goal against Belgrade made him break the record in just 65 appearances for the Reds.

That makes it quicker than previous record holder Albert Stubbins who did it in 77 matches.

Salah scored his first of the night when he converted a nice lay-off from Xherdan Shaqiri and blasted the ball with his right foot.

The Egyptian was then handed a golden chance to get his 50th goal from the penalty spot and he duly obliged on a comfortable night for the Reds.
