Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah has broken the club’s Champions League record with a brace against Roma in Tuesday’s Champions League first leg semi-final clash at Anfield.
The Egyptian international gave the Reds a deserved lead after 35 minutes when he curled in an exquisite effort into the far corner.
The goal means the 25-year-old is now the first Liverpool player to score nine goals in a single Champions League campaign.
Ten minutes later, Salah scored his tenth of the campaign when he raced in on goal and chipped the ball over the onrushing Alisson to put Jurgen Klopps’s side in full command of the tie.
The forward has also found the net in his last five Champions League starts, a run that only ex-Reds legend, Steven Gerrard has ever previously managed for the Anfield club.
Meanwhile, the match eventually ended 5-2 in favour of the home side.
Goals from Sadio Mane (56minutes) and Roberto Firmino (61 and 68minutes) gave the Reds a 5-0 lead before Eden Dzeko scored in the 81minutes and Diego Perotti also scored a penalty in the 85minute to give the visitors an away two goals as the match ended 5-2 in favour of Klopp’s men.
Liverpool will travel to Italy next week Wednesday for the semi-final second leg clash.
