Champions League round of 16: PSG manager speaks on dumping Manchester United out

Paris Saint-Germain manager, Thomas Tuchel, has played down suggestions that his side are the clear favourites against Manchester United, when they meet in the last 16 of the Champions League.

The draw for the knockout stages took place in Nyon on Monday and the Red Devils will have to find a way to stop this season’s top scorers.

But Tuchel is adamant that United’s know-how and the experience of their manager makes them dangerous.

“It’s always difficult to play Manchester United.

“They have lots of experience in this competition, they’ve won it numerous times. It’s always difficult to play at Old Trafford, it’s always a big challenge.

“It’s a big challenge for us, but if I were a spectator I would watch this game on TV,” the German said according to the UK Metro.

Tuchel also rejected suggestions his side were the clear favourite.

“Favourite? I do not think so, because we have a lack of experience in the quarter and semi finals.

“We must respect the clubs that have this experience and Manchester United is one of them.

“It’s the same thing against Mourinho. He has lots of experience in this competition and you must have respect. But we are confident in ourselves and I am convinced that we can win.”
