Champions League: Ronaldo, Florentino Perez tell Zidane who to start between Bale, Benzema against L

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has told club’s manager, Zinedine Zidane to start French forward, Karim Benzema ahead of Gareth Bale against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

The France international has struggled to find form this season, scoring only 10 goals and made 11 assists in all competitions this season.

However, Spanish news outlet, Don Balon reports that Ronaldo wants Benzema to start up front against Liverpool on Saturday night.

According to the newspaper, the Portugal international and Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos held talks with Zidane this week.

They urged the French gaffer to start Benzema with Ronaldo in Kiev, meaning Gareth Bale would be a substitute for the final.

However, Real president Florentino Perez has told Zidane to start Bale.

The club’s [president feels that Bale must start against Liverpool so as to give him more value as he prepares to put the forward up for sale in the summer.

Speaking about his selection problems ahead of the Champions League final, Zidane said, “I have 24 players available and I’m ….

“Sorry, but I can’t find a better word, because there are players that will stay in Madrid and not come with us for the last two games. That’s the hardest part for me.”
