Barcelona legend, Ronaldinho has tipped Tottenham Hotspur to win the Champions League trophy this season.
Tottenham will tackle Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final second leg tie at Etihad on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side head to the game after defeating Man City 1-0 in the first leg encounter last week Tuesday but Ronaldinho, who won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2006, believes Spurs can beat the Premier League champions and go all the way to win their first Champions League trophy.
Ronaldinho was quoted by Mirror UK as saying: “Why can’t Spurs win the Champions League?” he said.
“Because they don’t have the history in the competition – or because they have never won it before?
“Every team who has won the Champions League had to win it for the first time once.
“Their result against Manchester City, who are one of the best teams and have some of the best players in the competition, showed that they can compete with the best.
“At this stage, they will believe they can go all the way – and if they play as they can then maybe they will.”
